Rehabilitation is one of the most essential steps in our work at Core Compassion. Many of the beasties we rescue are not only physically injured but also emotionally scarred. Our rehabilitation efforts focus on healing the body and the mind, helping these animals overcome trauma and rebuild their strength.
Physical rehabilitation often begins with medical treatment. Many of the invertebrates we rescue have been hit by vehicles, abused, or neglected, leaving them with serious injuries. Our team works with veterinarians to provide surgeries, medication, and ongoing care to restore their health. But rehabilitation doesn’t end with medical care.
Emotional healing is just as important. Animals that have been mistreated often have trust issues or fear humans. Through patience, care, and much love, we help these animals regain their confidence and learn to trust again. This process can take time, but the transformation we see in these animals is incredible.
Rehabilitation also includes socialization. We introduce animals to other kind humans, helping them develop the skills they need to adapt to a new home. Ultimately, our goal is to fully prepare these animals for adoption so they can enjoy a safe, happy, and fulfilling life.
